Cerro Vista
Custom Home

This is a house façade remodel project for an existing two-story Los Gatos residence. The original house was designed with the second floor cantilevered over four pointed bay windows on the lower floor and an unusual square bay window projecting out from the round wall of a rotunda over a pointed entry roof. The redesign included the addition of square footage on the first floor to bring the façade flush. Larger windows and surface trim detailing was used to break down the massive scale of the façade. A lower band of stone tile was used to give the façade a visual base, a strong connection to the ground, and to break down the scale further. Completing and strengthening the symmetry of the original house, a completely redesigned central entry with strong vertical elements visually support the composition and help disguise the flat windows projecting from the rotunda.
