Storefront Facade Remodel Enigma Salon

A fire destroyed a large portion of the upper floor of this 24-unit apartment building. Our responsibility was to get it rebuilt as soon as possible. Hazardous materials testing was done for lead paint and asbestos before demolition and disposal was begun. The units below which suffered significant water damage from the fire hoses were dried and cleaned to abate any mold growth. Sheetrock and carpet was replaced as necessary. The city building department treated this as a typical remodel and the areas that were being re-built were required to meet current code. The existing building did not have draft stops in the attic between the apartment units. Therefore when the fire reached the attic it quickly spread to the entire roof structure and the other upstairs units. New draft stops were designed to compartmentalize the attic and help prevent this from happening again.
